Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh received a $5,000.00 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to support site-based mentoring programs that take place at 15+ school sites, places of work, and community centers across Allegheny, Washington, and Greene counties. This funding will offset the cost of program materials and supplies, transportation costs, and food and beverages at each of the program sites.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh operates three mentoring programs: Community-Based Mentoring where "matches" meet on their own time; Site-Based Mentoring where "matches" meet at a school, place or work, or community center; and Big Futures, an innovative program that combines mentoring practices with academic and social emotional supports for high school students.

It's About the Warriors Foundation received a $5,000.00 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used for their Therapeutic Program that allows veterans to get physical and mental health assistance at their office in Wexford with partners in Elizabeth, PA.

Monroeville Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 received a $5,000.00 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to purchase new training equipment and incident response equipment upgrades.
PA VetPets
PA VetPets, based out of Washington, PA, received a $2,500.00 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. This donation specifically aided a Veteran, Ben, and his dog, Kyra, attend Service Dog Training right in their hometown. PA VetPets is a nonprofit that raises money and releases funds in the form of grants to help veterans and first responders adopt dogs for emotional support. The organization also provides therapy dog or service dog training with community partners to gain a sense of purpose and provide mental health activities to combat the invisible signs of war.
Pine Run Volunteer Fire Department of New Sewickley Township
Pine Run Volunteer Fire Department of New Sewickley Township received a $2,500.00 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to purchase portable Milwaukee lighting for illumination at scenes. This purchase will will replace the current scene lighting that is 40-years-old and is no longer as reliable as it once had been.
Salem Township Volunteer Fire Department Co. #1
The Salem Township Volunteer Fire Department Co. #1 received a $5,000.00 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used for building renovations. The organization provides fire suppression, rescue, and hazmat and wildland services to the Slickville, Salem, and Loyalhanna Townships as well as Westmoreland County.
Shenango Area Fire District
Shenango Area Fire District, of New Castle, received a $5,000.00 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to purchase a DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise Drone that will assist emergency responders with Search and Rescue and fire related incidents. Drones can be rapidly deployed in an emergency to give responders a critical aerial perspective that is streamed in real-time to personnel working at the scene. Drones use dual thermal-visual cameras to detect persons for fire. This fundamental advantage helps to clearly identify people in danger as well as hazards such as fire. Drones give the ability to reach high risk areas and capture vital intelligence so firefighters remain safer while accomplishing their job.
Western Pennsylvania Folds of Honor
Western Pennsylvania Folds of Honor received a $5,000.00 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to provide an scholarship to spouse or child of a fallen or disabled veteran.
