Charitable Giving Donates $18,000 to Northeast Organizations

Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving recently held a Charitable Wednesday Give-and-Grab event for nonprofits in the Commonwealth. The event was held at Trolley Museum in Scranton where $18,214.00 was donated to 5 organizations in the northeast region.

The Northeast region consists of Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming counties.

Cancer Telethon Organization

Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving donated $1,000 to the Cancer Telethon Organization for their Fight Cancer Golf Tournament

Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving donated $1,000 to the Cancer Telethon Organization for their annual Fight Cancer Golf Tournament. This year's tournament hosted over 120 golfers in which proceeds are donated the regional Telethon for Carbon and Schuylkill counties. The Cancer Telethon Organization raises money for the American Cancer Society and also supports the PA Hope Lodge in Philadelphia.

Jack of Hearts

Jack of Hearts received a $2,214.00 donation from Charitable Giving to equip recreational sports leagues with AEDs and training. The organization provides support and resources to families with children that have been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. They also advocate for cardiac education for schools in hopes to include cardiac screenings and AEDs/training in future efforts.

Make-A-Wish of Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia

Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving made a $5,000 donation to Make-A-Wish of Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia to grant one wish.

Make-A-Wish of Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia received a $5,000 donation to be used to grant one wish for a child diagnosed with a critical illness. Since 1983, Make-A-Wish of Greater PA and West Virginia has been providing life changing wishes to children between the ages of 2.5 to 18 who are diagnosed with progressive, degenerative, and malignant conditions. They do so to provide hope, strength, and joy to children and families during a difficult time.

Rice Township Police Department

The Rice Township Police Department received a $5,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving in support of their K9 unit.
The Rice Township Police Department received a $5,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to start a K-9 program to serve the Mountain Top region. The department is implementing a nationally certified dual-purpose K-9 that will be trained in narcotic detection, building/article searches, criminal tracking and apprehension, locating lost or endangered citizens, and officer protection. The team will also be used to boost relations with the school district and other community groups. The donation was recommended by Pennsylvania Skill Operator Mack Novelty.

Valor Clinic Foundation

The Valor Clinic Foundation received a $5,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving.
The Valor Clinic Foundation received a $5,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to support programming to continue aiding Veterans in Monroe, Carbon, Schuylkill, and Northampton counties. Through their Holiday Meal Program, they provide holiday meals to warriors struggling financially at no cost. The resilient Warrior Program assists in maintaining a normal lifestyle in the face of adverse life conditions. Their Hope for the Homeless Program aids in meeting the communities need for short term transitional and/or emergency housing. Their Veterans Unstoppable Program aids warriors, first responders, and their families that are fasting Post Traumatic Stress Injuries and other invisible wounds from military or civil services. This program has three sub programs: Peer-to-Peer Support Groups, Pets for Vets, and Retreats.
