Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving donated $73,500 to organizations during the Quarter 3 giving period in North Central Pennsylvania. Counties that received a donation include Clinton, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Sullivan, Tioga, and Union.
Camp Susque
Camp Susque, of Trout Run, received a $5,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. This donation will be used to offset the cost of new beds with special covers in one of the lodges.
Central Mountain Youth Football and Cheer
Central Mountain Youth Football and Cheer, of Lock Haven, received a $2,500 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to provide players new helmets, pads, and pants for their safety. Central Mountain Youth Football and Cheer provides children with a safe and structured environment where they can learn the rules and techniques of youth football and cheer sports from kindergarten through ninth grade.
Central PA 12 Blue Star Mothers of America
Central PA 12 Blue Star Mothers of America, of Williamsport, received a $2,500 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving in support of their programming. Blue Star Mothers of America send quarterly care packages to deployed troops, deliver care packages to veterans in nursing homes during the holidays, participate in Wreaths Across America, and have created a scholarship fund for students in Lycoming County.
East Lycoming Soccer Association
East Lycoming Soccer Association, of Hughesville, received a $1,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to purchase warm up jerseys for boys and girls varsity teams. East Lycoming Soccer Association purchases items needed for youth soccer like games, camps, out of season training, and dinners.
Favors Forward Foundation
Favors Forward Foundation, of South Williamsport, received a $2,500 donation. The donation will be used to support Wise Options, a program that supports domestic violence clients with food, clothing, IDs, clearances, summer school, bus passes, bed, and furniture. The foundation is a network of volunteers that unite their time, talent, and treasurers to serve children and adults in Lycoming County facing life-changing hardships.
Firetree Place Williamsport Youth Football and Cheer
Firetree Place, of Williamsport, received a $2,500 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving in support of their youth football and cheer teams. The donation will be used to offset the cost of new football jerseys. Firetree Place is a nonprofit community center and licensed child care center focused on serving the youth and community of Williamsport, as well as surrounding areas. Firetree strives to build stronger communities through education, recreation, art, and social programs for Lycoming County families.
Geisinger Health Foundation
Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving was a presenting Box Office Sponsor for the Geisinger Ball on Broadway with a $5,000 donation. The fundraiser benefitted maternal and pediatric care at Geisinger and raised funds for Beyond the Bricks, a $10 million philanthropic campaign to support expanded and enhanced care for children and their families. The event raised more than $225,000!
Happy Tails No Kill Animal Shelter
Happy Tails No Kill Animal Shelter, of Towanda, received a $1,500 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to purchase a free-standing outdoor kennel. The shelter accepts homeless and abandoned dogs and cats, provides for their care, and re-homes them. They also provide spay and neuter services and educational programs.
Lycoming County Law Enforcement Appreciation
Lycoming County's District Attorney's Office hosted the annual Law Enforcement Appreciation in which Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving donated $2,500. The members of the law enforcement community take seriously their daily responsibility to ensure the safety of the community and as a thank you for the members and their families, the District Attorney's Office provided a 2023 Law Enforcement Appreciation themed t-shirt.
Lycoming County SPCA
The Lycoming County SPCA, of Williamsport, received a $3,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving with an additional $10,000 donation in honor of Ken Manley from Bison. The donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving is in support of their event For the Love of Paws which support veterinary care and medicine, animal care, food and enrichment items, sanitation supplies, and much more.
Bison, a group of Pennsylvania Skill Operators, made an additional $10,000 donation in memory of the late Kenny Manley. Kenny was an estiental member to the Pennsylvania Skill team and he will be dearly missed. Kenny also was an avid lover of animals and is survived by his dog, Ruby. To honor Kenny, Bison donated to one of his favorite local foundations — the Lycoming County SPCA.
Lycoming County Visitors Bureau: Williamsport Welcomes the World
Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving was the headline sponsor for the 2023 Williamsport Welcome the World Event and donated $10,000 to the Lycoming County Visitors Bureau. The event is an annual celebration by the City of Williamsport and the Lycoming County Chamber of Commerce on the Friday of Championship Weekend. This year was Little League's 76th World Series and Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving welcomed families and visitors to downtown Williamsport for the 13th Williamsport Welcomes the World event. Over 20,000 people participate in the event and the street festival has a variety of programs including live music, kid zones full of fun and free activities, along with various food and merchandise vendors.
Messiah Lutheran Preschool
Messiah Lutheran Preschool, of South Williamsport, received a $5,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to purchase educational materials, teacher materials, certified playground mulch, and/or replace playground equipment. The preschool seeks to provide for the holistic development of preschool children, especially for their educational, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual, and spiritual growth in a climate of love and understanding.
Muncy Valley Area Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance
Muncy Valley Area Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance received a $2,500 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to purchase a Schaefer 18" Misting Fan with Pump and Cooler which will provide a much needed cooling system for firefighters and personnel on rescue scenes.
North Central Sight Services
North Central Sight Services, of Williamsport, received a $8,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to purchase a Welch Allyn Spot Vision Screener from VEATCH Instruments which is used for kindergarten registrations as the state mandated vision screenings within school districts. North Central Sight Services is expanding their Social Services Program to provide all students in Lycoming, Sullivan, and Tioga counties school districts with high quality, state mandated vision screenings on an annual basis.
Penitent Souls Children's Foundation
The Penitent Souls Children's Foundation, of Watsontown, received a $2,500 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will assist sick children in the area with a large array of items such a specialty medical equipment, wheelchairs, medical expenses, fuel cards to assist with transportation costs to and from medical appointments.
Sullivan County Agricultural Association
The Sullivan County Agricultural Association, of Forksville, received a $2,500 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to repair the scale that is used for the truck and tractor pull, horse pull, weighing 4H livestock, steers, and more.
Sullivan County Shooting Sports Team
The Sullivan County Shooting Sports Team, of Hughesville, received a $2,500 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used of offset the cost of international shells used in practice and tournaments.
The Tioga County Agricultural Association, of Wellsboro, received a $2,500 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to repair the kitchen and drains as well as replacing the washing machine and stove in the kitchen which is used for fundraisers in the community.
Transitions of PA
Transitions of PA, of Lewisburg, received a $5,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving in support of their programming. The foundation provides no-cost services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other violent crimes for their families. They also provide violence prevention education for K-12, college students, and businesses through community education and outreach programs.
Wellsboro Fire Department
The Wellsboro Fire Department received a $5,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to update and add new firefighting equipment.
