$23,000 From PA Skill Charitable Giving Support Northeastern PA Communities

Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving donated $23,750 to four nonprofits in the Northeastern region of the state to programming that benefit the communities they serve.

Fannett-Metal Fire & Ambulance Company

The Fannett-Metal Fire and Ambulance Company received a $6,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving.

The Fannett-Metal Fire and Ambulance Company received a $6,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to purchase two thermal imaging cameras (TIC) — one to be placed on the engine and one for the rescue squad. The cameras are used for structure fires, vehicle accidents, hazmat incidents, outdoor searches, and wildland fires.  

Franklin Fire Company

Franklin Fire Company received a $5,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving.

Franklin Fire Company received a $5,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to purchase items to assist Fire Police personnel such as a push bar to mount on front of the traffic control unit, an interior console to mount radios and arrow board controls, a rack to carry the necessary road signs and devices for traffic control inside the rear of the vehicle, and ten maglite flashlights for directing traffic.

Milroy Hose Company No. 1

The Milroy Hose Company No. 1 received a $10,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving.

The Milroy Hose Company No. 1 received a $10,000 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to offset the cost of having one of two ambulances rechassied which takes approximately three months to be completed.

Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center

The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center received a $2,750 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving.


The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center received a $2,750 donation from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving. The donation will be used to update one of the center’s exhibits called the Weather Wizard. Instead of losing this exhibit, the Discovery Center decided to revitalize and restore the educational resource. The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center is an interactive science museum that offers a variety of educational programs for children and families, as well as merit badge and journey programs for scouts.
